TidyAcc · Renovation contractors

A clearer financial picture for renovation contractors.

Keep quotation scope, changing client requests and trade costs connected to each renovation or fit-out job.

One renovation, many moving parts

A renovation or fit-out job can involve carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, painting and several suppliers. Each trade contributes to the final cost, while the client may request changes after work begins.

Without a shared job record, extra work can reach the site team before it reaches the invoice, and supplier bills can arrive after you think the project is finished. The result is a margin that is difficult to explain.

Follow the job from quotation to invoice

  • Keep the original quotation scope and client details available.
  • Record additional work as a variation tied to the same project.
  • Assign material purchases and specialist trade bills to the job.
  • Review billed income, collected payments and assigned costs separately.
  • Give staff and the accountant access appropriate to their role.

TidyAcc brings quotations, variation orders, supplier bills, invoices and project profit together. Check the exact workflow with your own documents during a walkthrough.

An example: extra cabinetry

A client requests additional cabinetry during a kitchen renovation. The extra price increases project income, but new boards, hardware, installation labour and subcontractor work can also increase costs.

Record both sides of the change. A variation that is agreed informally and billed much later can make the project look temporarily less profitable. A variation recorded without its delivery costs can make it look more profitable than it is.

Use the variation order checklist to keep the scope, price and supporting records together.

Confirm the fit before switching

Bring one current renovation quotation, a changed scope and a supplier bill. Review the document presentation, project cost allocation, payment records and team access.

If progress claims or retention are essential, confirm availability: these are coming soon. For Malaysian renovation businesses, check currency, tax and e-invoice suitability rather than assuming the Singapore setup applies.

Start with your own workflow.

One quotation, one bill and one invoice are a useful starting point for a product discussion.
