TidyAcc · Contractor accounting

Contractor accounting software, built around each job.

For Singapore main contractors and specialist trades, tidy accounts start with knowing which job each dollar belongs to.

Why a contractor needs more than an invoice list

A contractor can have a busy order book and still struggle to explain why a particular job earned less than expected. Income may be in an invoice list while materials sit in supplier bills, subcontractor costs in another sheet, and scope changes in messages. The job is the missing connection.

Project accounting connects those records. It helps you review the work you have billed, the costs assigned to it and the amount collected. Those are different numbers, and each answers a different question.

Keep the financial trail attached to the project

  • Start with the quotation. Keep the agreed scope and price available when the team starts work.
  • Record changes. Assign variation orders to the same job rather than treating extra work as an unrelated sale.
  • Assign costs. Include materials, labour, subcontractor bills and other job expenses. Account for supplier rebates.
  • Review income and collections. Check invoices and payments separately so a profitable job does not hide an unpaid balance.

TidyAcc connects these workflows with project profit views and individual access for staff and accountants. Confirm the exact permissions and workflow with your team before moving your records.

Singapore details to discuss

TidyAcc brings SGD, UEN on documents, GST settings and PayNow QR invoices into the workflow. Review your company settings with your accountant, including whether your company is GST-registered and how tax is treated in your reports.

A payment QR on an invoice is a payment aid. It does not by itself prove that an invoice has been paid. Review the collection workflow during a walkthrough.

Start with one active job

Bring one quotation, one variation order and a few supplier or subcontractor bills. A practical walkthrough should show how those records join up and what your accountant can access. Then agree how open projects and unpaid invoices will move across.

Do not confuse job margin with company net profit: shared overheads and unassigned costs still matter. Read the project profit guide before comparing reports.
